Using Glottago

Glottago is a language learning app for French, English, Arabic and German, run by its owner under the brand Glottago ("Glottago", "we"). You can use the practice features without an account. By using Glottago you agree to these terms.

Glottago's practice features are free. Glottago may also sell credits for extra AI speaking conversations with the tutor. When it does, the price, the currency and what is included are shown on the pricing page before you pay. Free features stay free unless we say otherwise first.

Paid conversation credits

A credit is one AI speaking conversation with the tutor, of up to ten minutes. Credits are added to your account when the payment is confirmed. They stay on your account until you use them, and they cannot be transferred or exchanged for money.

Orders are processed by an online payment provider that acts as the merchant of record, such as Lemon Squeezy or Paddle. It charges you, adds the sales tax or VAT that applies in your country, and sends you the receipt. We never see your card details. The provider's own terms apply to the payment.

A credit buys access to software: the AI tutor is a computer program, not a person. Refunds follow the Refund Policy.

Your account

An account is optional. It is created in one click, with a generated display name and no email. You can add an email and a password later. Keep your password private. You can delete your account at any time on your profile page, and its server data is deleted with it.

Your display name is public on leaderboards unless you turn leaderboards off. Do not choose a name that is offensive or that pretends to be another person.

Acceptable use

Do not attack, overload or reverse engineer the service. Do not try to read other learners' data. Do not use bots to change leaderboards.

Do not use the AI tutor or the writing feedback to produce or discuss illegal content, sexual content about real people without their consent, malware, harassment, or content that pretends to come from a real person or organization. Do not try to make the tutor ignore its purpose, which is language learning.

We may limit or close an account that breaks these rules.

Content and what you write

The passages, lessons, questions and recordings in Glottago belong to Glottago or its licensors. You may use them to learn. Do not copy or sell them.

What you type or say stays yours. The Privacy Policy explains when a text or your voice is sent to a service you ask for, such as writing feedback or the tutor.

Exams and AI

Glottago is not part of, and is not approved by, the organizations that run TCF, TEF, DELF, IELTS or TOEFL. Scores and levels in Glottago are indicative only, and are not official results.

The tutor and the writing feedback use artificial intelligence. They can make mistakes. Check important points with a teacher or a reference.

No warranty and limits of liability

Glottago is provided as it is, without a promise that it is always available or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, Glottago and its maintainer are not liable for indirect loss or for loss of data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Changes and contact

We may change these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is important, we will say so in the app.
