French writing for DELF and TCF · Lesson 2 of 6
Building a paragraph
A good paragraph develops one idea. It opens with a topic sentence that states the idea, gives an argument with an example, and ends with a short conclusion or a link to the next paragraph.
Connectors mark each step: for the first argument, to explain the sentence before, for a concrete case, and to conclude: .
In the exam, leave a blank line between paragraphs and keep one idea in each. Three short paragraphs read better than one long block.
