Exclamation and praise

ما أفعل expresses wonder: ما أجمل البحر! means how beautiful the sea is. The adjective takes the pattern أفعل, and the noun after it is its object: ما أجمل السماء!

A second form, أفعل ب, says the same: أجمل بالبحر! When the adjective can't take أفعل, use ما أكثر or ما أشد with a verbal noun: ما أشد حمرة الورد!

نعم praises and بئس blames: نعم الصديق الكتاب, the book is an excellent friend; بئس الخلق الكذب. Write بئس with the hamza on a yaa seat.
